Arsenal in negotiations over deal to sign Kennet Eichhorn
Arsenal are keeping a close eye on German youngster Kennet Eichhorn after reports from CaughtOffside linked the club with a possible move.
The 16-year-old midfielder has drawn wide interest across Europe following his early rise at Hertha Berlin.
Reports suggest Arsenal see Eichhorn as a player with strong long-term value and room for steady growth. Sources say the club has already begun early talks with people close to the young midfielder.
Arsenal hold talks
According to reports from media outlet The Brief, Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has opened discussions with Eichhorn’s camp in recent weeks.
The talks are described as serious, with Arsenal setting out a clear plan for the teenager’s future. The Gunners believe they can offer a calm path built around game time, learning, and patience.
Arsenal see English football as a strong stage for young players willing to grow step by step. Eichhorn has already made 14 appearances for Hertha Berlin despite his young age.
Arsenal are said to be impressed by his calm use of the ball and his awareness in tight spaces. At the Emirates Stadium, Eichhorn would train alongside top midfielders like Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi.
Mikel Merino is another senior figure who could help guide the teenager’s progress. No official bid has been made yet, but interest inside the club is seen as strong.
Bayern Munich remain a serious rival
However, Arsenal are not alone in the race, as Bayern Munich continue to monitor the situation closely, as per the report. Internally, Bayern view him as a long-term option for their midfield group.
Reports claim Bayern are ready to go beyond the £12.6 million release clause if needed. They are also willing to add a signing fee to push their case forward.
Bayern believe Eichhorn could fill a future gap left by Leon Goretzka. The midfielder is not expected to be offered a new deal at the club. That view has made Bayern more active as they plan for the next few seasons.
Despite this, Arsenal feel their project can compete with Bayern’s long-standing record. The Premier League side believe early trust and steady minutes can be a key factor.
Eichhorn is expected to take time before making any final decision on his future.
