Arsenal track Brazilian teenage talent Rafael Belinho
Arsenal have been linked with another rising teenage talent as they continue to scan Europe for young prospects with high potential.
Reports from The Mirror claim the Gunners are keeping a close eye on Rafael Belinho, a 17-year-old attacker already attracting wide attention.
The north London club have made youth recruitment a clear focus in recent seasons, with several teenagers monitored across different leagues. Belinho fits that profile, with Arsenal believed to be impressed by his skill set and long-term development curve.
The Brazilian-born youngster also holds a Croatian passport, which has helped shape his early career in European football. He recently completed a move from Dinamo Zagreb to NK Kustosija, a step designed to support his growth at youth level.
The switch allows Belinho to feature for Kustosija’s under-19 side, which competes in Croatia’s top youth division. Belinho is known for his ability to operate on the right wing or in an advanced midfield role behind the striker.
Scouts believe he is comfortable receiving the ball under pressure and can create chances in tight spaces.
European giants join the chase
Arsenal are far from alone in tracking the teenager’s progress, with several major clubs also monitoring his rise. Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been credited with interest in the highly rated attacker.
Mirror Football have also reported that Borussia Dortmund are serious admirers of the young forward. In recent days, Belinho’s representatives were in Germany for direct talks with Dortmund officials.
Dortmund see Belinho as a player who could fit their model if his progress continues as expected.
Work permit rules shape next steps
Despite strong interest from England, a move to the Premier League cannot happen straight away. Current Brexit rules prevent under-18 players from joining English clubs without special approval.
This restriction applies to both Arsenal and Manchester United at this stage. However, clubs can still agree terms in advance for a transfer once the player turns 18.
Arsenal are expected to continue monitoring his performances over the coming months. No formal bid has been made, but interest remains active and well placed.
The coming year could prove key in deciding where Rafael Belinho takes the next step in his career.
