Arsenal are set to travel to Jan Breydel Stadium to take on Club Brugge in the Champions League tonight.

Having already won all five matches, the Gunners have pretty much booked their tickets in the knockout stage of this competition. They are almost guaranteed to avoid the playoff round and secure automatic qualification for the round of 16.

On the other hand, Brugge are currently out of the top 24 spot but have displayed bright performances at home, drawing against Barcelona and thrashing AS Monaco 4-1.

Team news

Gabriel Magalhaes, Kai Havertz, and Cristhian Mosquera are likely to remain sidelined owing to their respective injury problems. Moreover, William Saliba has been ruled out due to an injury.

Leandro Trossard has struggled with an injury in recent weeks but was named in the matchday squad against Aston Villa last weekend. He even came on as a substitute at the interval before scoring the equaliser, but he couldn’t finish the game. So, he isn’t going to be involved tonight, while Declan Rice is ill and won’t feature.

After remaining sidelined over the last few months due to a major knee injury, Gabriel Jesus has recovered and may be in contention to be involved tonight. Initially, he wasn’t named in the Champions League squad, but he has now been included.

Predicted line-up

David Raya is expected to retain his place in goal, with Jurrien Timber and Piero Hincapié likely to form the centre-back pairing for the North London club. Ben White may continue in the right-back position, and Myles Lewis-Skelly should get the nod to commence on the opposite side.

Christian Norgaard could be in the holding midfield position, while Mikel Merino might be alongside the Dane. Eberechi Eze should be in the attacking midfield position. In that case, Martin Zubimendi and Martin Odegaard would feature off the bench if needed.

Mikel Arteta might decide to commence Noni Madueke on the right flank to give Bukayo Saka a breather, and Gabriel Martinelli is expected to be on the opposite side. Viktor Gyokeres would be leading the line for the North London club and Jesus could be involved as a substitute.

Expected Arsenal line-up vs Club Brugge
