Arsenal are reportedly ‘prepared to submit’ a huge proposal to sign Bayern Munich attacker Michael Olise, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Purchasing a new right-sided forward to support Bukayo Saka had long been a priority for Mikel Arteta, and the club’s hierarchy finally fulfilled that ambition by signing Noni Madueke last summer.

Amid Saka’s injury absence during the first few weeks of this season, the former Chelsea winger stepped in impressively. However, he was then sidelined with an injury problem over the last couple of months before making a recent return.

Now, it appears Arteta isn’t completely happy with his current right-wing options, so he is looking to upgrade this position next year. Fichajes state that Arsenal have earmarked Olise as a serious option after being impressed by his performances at the Allianz Arena in recent times.

The Gunners are ‘prepared to submit’ a formal proposal worth around £132m to persuade the Bavarian club to let him leave. However, they don’t want to sell him just yet, with his existing deal set to run until 2029.

Having showcased glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League for Crystal Palace, the 23-year-old joined the record German champions ahead of last season.

He has been in excellent form in recent seasons, making 35 goal contributions across all competitions last term. He even made five goal contributions in as many games in the Club World Cup last summer.

Olise to Arsenal

Olise has continued to showcase his productivity this campaign, netting nine goals and registering eight assists in 21 appearances in all tournaments.

After winning the Bundesliga title last term, he has been guiding his side to defend their title this season, sitting at the top of the table with an eight-point lead.

Olise is a left-footed right-winger like Saka, but is also comfortable in the No.10 position. He is a top-class player and would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, having already got Saka and Madueke for the right flank and Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze, and Ethan Nwaneri for the CAM position, Arsenal don’t need to spend big to add further depth in these positions.

Therefore, the North London club would be better off saving the money to reinforce other areas of the squad.
