Predicted Arsenal line-up against Brentford
Following a 1-1 draw against Chelsea last weekend, Arsenal will face off against Brentford in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
The Gunners have accumulated 30 points from 13 games and can’t afford to drop points in this game, as it would allow the chasing pack to close the gap at the top.
On the other hand, it was thought that Brentford might struggle this season following the departures of Thomas Frank, Bryan Mbeumo, and Yoane Wissa last summer. However, they have enjoyed a solid start and currently sit mid-table with 19 points from 13 games, eight points above the relegation zone.
Team news
Arsenal have struggled with several injury problems thus far this season, with Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Magalhaes remaining sidelined with their respective issues.
Moreover, William Saliba isn’t expected to be involved alongside Leandro Trossard tonight due to injury. Thankfully, Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, and Noni Madueke are all fit and available once again after being sidelined for the past few weeks.
Predicted line-up
David Raya is set to keep hold of his place between the sticks. At the same time, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié should continue as the centre-back pairing amid Gabriel and Saliba’s absence.
Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori are expected to be the two fullbacks for Arsenal. So, Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly would have to make do with a place on the bench.
There are unlikely to be any changes in the engine room; therefore, Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice should keep hold of their place in the starting line-up. Odegaard might make his first start in his preferred CAM role after recovering from his injury; in that case, Eberechi Eze could be on the left flank.
Bukayo Saka is set to be on the left for the North London club, so Martinelli and Madueke may feature as substitutes. Mikel Merino is likely to be in the centre-forward position after putting his name on the scoresheet last time out; in that case, Gyokeres might be involved as a substitute.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Brentford:
Raya; Timber, Mosquera, Hincapié, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard; Eze, Merino, Saka
