Arsenal eye move for Aston Villa star Rogers
Arsenal have shown interest in signing Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, according to reports from The Sun.
The club are considering their options after Kai Havertz picked up an injury that has left Mikel Arteta short of attacking choices.
The Gunners have already added Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke to their frontline this summer.
They also reached an agreement to bring Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze to the Emirates.
However, the injury to Havertz has forced them to explore further options before the transfer window closes.
The Sun claims that Arsenal are now showing a keen interest in Rodgers. However, Villa are reluctant to lose their star man and have placed a high value on the England international.
The reports claims Villa want around £80 million before they even consider entering talks.
Rogers key for Aston Villa last season
Rogers, 23, was named the PFA Young Player of the Year after a standout 2024/25 campaign.
He played a major role in helping Aston Villa secure a sixth-place finish in the Premier League.
He also impressed in Europe, guiding Unai Emery’s side to the Champions League quarter-finals before their exit.
The young forward delivered excellent numbers last season. He scored 14 goals and provided 16 assists across all competitions, underlining his importance to Villa’s attack.
Rogers will be hoping to secure a place in England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
A transfer to Arsenal could strengthen his chances, as regular games at a top Premier League side would further highlight his quality and push him closer to a national team call-up.
These performances have now caught the attention of Arsenal, who see him as a player that fits Arteta’s system.
Rogers is admired for his versatility in the final third. He is able to play as an attacking midfielder or out wide.
His ability to drift into space, run at defenders, and deliver precise passes makes him a constant threat.
He also combines strength and stamina with awareness and discipline, which allows him to influence games in different ways.
Arsenal are still deciding whether to press forward with a move or end their summer business with the signing of Eze.
With several new signings already completed, the club must weigh up whether to make one final addition.
