Arsenal ready to make a move to sign Rodrygo Goes
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to make a move to sign Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes, as per transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.
The Gunners have already signed six new faces by spending around £200m this summer. Following Neto’s departure, Mikel Arteta has signed Kepa Arrizabalaga to support David Raya.
Moreover, the North London club have bought Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia to add depth in the RCB position. Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard have been purchased to revamp the midfield department following Thomas Partey and Jorginho’s departure. The Dane even opened his account in the Gunners’ colours against Villarreal in a pre-season friendly.
Arsenal have decided to reinforce the centre-forward position by signing Viktor Gyokeres, while they have bought Noni Madueke to create competition for Bukayo Saka.
However, it has widely been reported that the North London club are also planning to sign a new left-winger with Rodrygo and Anthony Gordon suggested as potential targets. Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace is also on Arsenal’s radar, but he is reportedly viewed as a CAM more than a left-sided forward.
Now, on TBR Football, Bailey says that despite already spending £200m, Arsenal have the funds to sign Rodrygo. Real Madrid want around £70m to let him leave with his existing deal set to run until 2028.
Rodrygo to Arsenal
However, Arsenal haven’t made a move for him yet as they haven’t received the green light from the player that he is ready to leave Los Blancos and move to the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the player and are waiting for confirmation that he is ready to leave before making a move.
Rodrygo’s future has been a subject of speculation in this transfer window as he struggled to find regular game time during the final few months of last season.
His struggles were mainly due to the fierce competition for places; moreover, Franco Mastantuano is set to join from River Plate. So, finding game time at Real Madrid would be even more difficult next season.
He has played on the right side for most of his time at Real Madrid, but is more of a left winger. The South American has showcased his qualities at the highest level over the years, so he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they eventually manage to secure his service.
