Arsenal consider Hugo Ekitike as striker alternative
Arsenal are reportedly showing interest in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, according to German outlet BILD.
The 23-year-old Frenchman is now on the radar of several top clubs across Europe after a strong season in Germany.
Ekitike caught attention with his impressive form, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions for Frankfurt.
The Gunners are in the market for a new centre forward, with manager Mikel Arteta eager to strengthen the attacking line.
Arsenal have already been linked with Viktor Gyökeres, Benjamin Sesko, and Ollie Watkins as they explore options in the forward line.
However, if deals for Sesko or Gyökeres fall through, the Gunners could turn to Ekitike as a possible target.
Frankfurt, though, are expected to demand over £85 million for the player, a fee that could prove difficult for Arsenal to match.
Arsenal wary of budget amid wider squad plans
Arsenal are determined to reinforce different parts of their squad this summer, not just the striker position.
They are also looking to improve their options on the left wing, which means they may not be willing to spend their entire budget on one signing.
This could complicate a move for Ekitike unless Frankfurt lower their valuation or Arsenal raise funds through player sales.
Despite the high asking price, Ekitike remains an appealing option due to his profile and style of play.
The former Paris Saint-Germain striker is a mobile and versatile forward who can play alone up front or with a partner.
He is known for his quick movement, smart runs behind defenders, and ability to find space inside the box.
Ekitike also thrives in transitions, using his pace and dribbling to carry the ball into dangerous areas.
His technical skill, calm finishing, and ability to link up play add to his value in a fast-paced attacking system.
While a transfer is not close yet, Arsenal will keep an eye on the striker’s situation as the summer window unfolds.
