Arsenal eye Brentford star as Partey replacement

Arsenal are reportedly considering a summer move for Brentford midfielder Christian Nørgaard. This comes as Thomas Partey looks likely to leave the club.

According to Mirror Football, Arsenal have made efforts to renew Partey’s contract.

However, talks between both parties are no longer making progress. As a result, the club has started looking at other midfield options.

As per the Mirror, Nørgaard has emerged as a key target. The Danish midfielder is seen as a possible replacement for Partey, who could exit this summer.

Partey made 52 appearances for Arsenal in the 2024/25 season. Despite this, he is now attracting interest from clubs across Europe. Fenerbahçe and Barcelona are both keeping tabs on the Ghanaian.

With no clear path to an agreement on a new deal, a summer departure is becoming more likely.

Arsenal are now planning for life without the experienced midfielder.

Nørgaard Among Midfield Targets for Arsenal

Mikel Arteta’s side are already close to completing a £51 million deal for Martin Zubimendi.

The Real Sociedad midfielder is expected to replace Jorginho, who recently joined Flamengo.

With Partey possibly leaving, Arsenal are keen to add another experienced option to the middle of the park.

Nørgaard is well known for his work rate and leadership at Brentford.

His time in the Premier League could also make his transition to Arsenal much easier.

The Gunners have also been linked with Sevilla’s Lucien Agoumé. However, both players may need time to adapt to English football.

That is something Arsenal want to avoid, especially as they aim to keep competing at the highest level.

Arsenal have finished second in the Premier League for three straight seasons.

They want to go one step further next term. Adding depth and experience in midfield is a top priority for the club.

With Nørgaard familiar with the league and showing consistency at Brentford, he fits the profile Arsenal are seeking.

A formal move could soon follow if Partey departs as expected.
