Arsenal line up summer move for Mohammed Kudus
Arsenal are eyeing a move to sign West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, according to a report by TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook.
The Ghanaian attacker has been on Arsenal’s radar for a while and is now being considered again ahead of the upcoming summer window.
Kudus is known for his versatility. He can play in midfield or operate from the right wing when needed.
Mikel Arteta is said to admire Kudus for his technical ability, movement, and potential to unlock tight games.
The Arsenal boss is keen to add more quality and depth to his attack after his side’s title charge fell short this season.
Kudus under the spotlight
The 24-year-old joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023. He arrived with high expectations after impressing in the Dutch league.
However, the Ghana international has found it hard to hit top form consistently during his debut campaign in English football.
Despite that, he has remained a regular starter under David Moyes and has featured in all 29 of his Premier League matches so far.
Kudus has scored four goals and provided three assists in the league this season.
While these numbers are not eye-catching, his work rate and drive have kept him in the team.
West Ham rate Kudus highly and are not under pressure to sell unless a big offer arrives.
As per the report, his current contract contains a release clause of around £85 million. That figure, however, is unlikely to be met by Arsenal.
The Gunners are instead exploring a deal closer to £59 million, which they feel reflects his form and potential.
Arteta wants extra spark in final third
Arsenal fell short in key attacking moments during their run-in this season, while also losing to PSG in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Arteta wants more options in wide and central areas, and Kudus ticks several of those boxes.
With his pace, dribbling, and flair, the Ghanaian could offer a new dimension to Arsenal’s attack.
