Arsenal want Fenerbahce’s Ferdi Kadioglu as their first summer signing
According to Football London, Arsenal have identified Fernabahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu as ‘the first summer acquisition they might make.’
With the Yellow Canaries, Kadioglu has had a revival this season, missing only one Turkish League fixture while playing the other 30. His three goals, four assists, and his availability are why Fenerbahce, who are second in the Turkish Super Lig, are in a stronger position to grab the league from Galatasary, as they’re only two points behind.
The 24-year-old’s excellence has sparked interest from a number of clubs, but according to TRTSpor, Napoli are Arsenal’s main transfer rival for his signature. Mikel Arteta appears to have become frustrated with full-backs, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksander Zinchenko’s frequent injuries. Thus, Kadioglu is considered an upgrade who could be a reliable option over the two.
In the Super Lig, he (Kadioglu) has an 85% pass accuracy and, remarkably, disposes his opponents seven times every game. Those who watch Fenerbahce games also speak of his ability to dribble himself out of danger.
Kadioglu to Arsenal, but at a premium
Fenerbhace recognise they have a top-class, flexible full-back who can play on both flanks; thus, as per TRTSpor, they would only sell him at a premium. Even so, Arsenal must believe they can pull off his deal; that may be why Football London says they want to start the summer business with his swoop.
Arsenal have been on the upswing over the last two seasons. And, of course, in order to stay at the top, they must constantly improve their squad. We expect Arsenal to have a busy summer. Reports claim he is looking to buy a top striker, a top midfielder, and now, according to this revelation, a top full back in the £17 million-rated Kadioglu (Transfermarkt).
Hopefully, this summer’s transfer window is as successful as the different reports have suggested, resulting in a much improved Arsenal next season.
