Mikel Arteta says Bukayo Saka is a ‘top player’

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has said that Bukayo Saka is a top-class footballer.

After coming through the Hale End academy, the 22-year-old made his senior debut back in 2018 before establishing himself as an integral part of Arteta’s first eleven in recent years.

The youngster is currently deemed one of the best young talents in Europe and has already secured his place in the England national team’s starting eleven.

Now, during the pre-match press-confeeence ahead of the Champions League clash against RC Lens, Arteta has said that Saka is one of Arsenal’s best players so it is normal he is getting special treatment from opposition defenders.

The Spaniard further states that Saka has done unbelievably well over the last few years after making his debut and he has been showcasing consistency – which is rare for players at this age.

Arteta also says that Saka has already showcased his talent at the club level and the international stage so he certainly is a top-class player.

Arteta heaps praise on Saka

Arteta said:

“Well, he’s[Saka] targeted because he’s one of our most dangerous players and the teams know that, and they try to stop our strengths, that’s for sure. What he’s done in those five years [since his debut] is remarkable at his age, when you look at his stats, and how consistent he’s been, it’s very rare to see that at his age, especially in those positions at top clubs. It’s a big compliment for him.

“Well, he played at the World Cup, he plays in the national team, so I don’t know what world-class means, but he’s a top, top player, that’s for sure.”

Saka is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become one of the best forwards in the world. He has already showcased his talent at the highest level and the North Londoners will be hoping that he will be able to continue performing at his best going forward.

However, Arsenal are currently heavily reliant on the youngster and they don’t have any proper backup to the Englishman. So, I think the Gunners should look to sign a new right-winger next year to manage Saka’s game-time.
