[Teams] Derby U23’s vs Arsenal U23’s: Wilshere among 3 first team players to start
First team trio Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Francis Coquelin all start for the under-23 side against Derby County this evening.
Our youth side take on Derby at St George’s Park tonight and Arsene Wenger has decided to use the game to give some of his first team players a run-out.
Wilshere has just recovered from a fractured leg that he suffered while on loan with Bournemouth back in April and the midfielder will be looking to build on his fitness with the under-23’s.
Coquelin has also just overcome a knee injury so he gets a run-out while Gibbs will use the game to maintain his match fitness after being frozen out of Wenger’s plans as he seeks a move away from the club this summer.
Here is the Arsenal side:
Arsenal
Huddart, Maitland-Niles, Bielik, Bramall, Nelson, Coquelin, Wilshere, Gibbs, Reine-Adelaide, Willock, Nketiah
Subs: Keto, Pleguezuelo, McGuane, Dasilva and Malen
