Ratings: Ozil shines as Arsenal held to 1-1 draw by Tottenham
A below-par Arsenal draw 1-1 with Tottenham at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon with Kieran Gibbs’ late strike cancelling out Harry Kane’s first half goal.
Here are my ratings:
Cech 7/10 – Kept us in the game at 1-0 with a fine save but got away with wandering out his area in the second half.
Debuchy 6/10 – Didn’t really put a foot wrong in what was a much-improved performance to his outing in Munich.
Mertesacker 6/10 – Once again, his lack of pace was exposed but he did make a few important blocks.
Koscielny 6/10 – At fault for their goal as he stupidly tried to play offside.
Monreal 7/10 – Our best defender. Made a couple of vital tackles and got forward when he could too.
Coquelin 7.5/10 – Couldn’t control the midfield in the first half but was excellent after the break.
Cazorla 4/10 – A strangely subdued performance from the Spaniard. Taken off at half time complaining of dizziness.
Campbell 4.5/10 – Saw plenty of the ball in the first half but decision making was terrible and had no real influence on the game.
Ozil 8/10 – Arsenal’s best player once again and picked up yet another assist.
Alexis 6/10 – Linked up well with Ozil on occasion but just wasn’t to be his day. Looks knackered so could do with a rest.
Giroud 5/10 – Very wasteful. Missed at least three excellent opportunities to score.
Subs:
Flamini 7/10 – Added some bite to our midfield.
Gibbs 7.5/10 – Made himself the hero after grabbing a late equaliser.
Arteta N/A
