Arsenal are set to host Leeds United in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium this lunchtime.

Although the Gunners enjoyed a stellar start this season, they entered the long international break, having endured a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Therefore, Mikel Arteta’s side are currently second in the table with 12 points from five matches, sitting only three points behind league leaders Manchester City.

On the other hand, Leeds have started the new season promisingly under Daniel Farke’s guidance as they are still unbeaten. The Peacocks are currently fifth in the table with nine points.

Team news

William Saliba remains sidelined due to his back problem, while Christos Tzolis is set to be out for a few weeks, having sustained an injury on international duty with Greece.

On the other hand, Kai Havertz picked up a muscular problem with Germany and is in doubt for this encounter. Ezri Konsa has been carrying knocks, so there is a question mark over his availability.

However, Piero Hincapié and Cristhian Mosquera are ready to be involved, while Declan Rice should also be fit enough to feature today.

Predicted line-up

David Raya is expected to keep hold of his place in goal. In front of the Spaniard, Mosquera and Gabriel Magalhaes should be the centre-back pairing for the hosts.

Jurrien Timber, valued at around £59m by Transfermarkt, might commence in the right-back position and Riccardo Calafiori could be on the opposite side. Therefore, Hincapié may feature as a substitute if needed.

Rice is likely to be the defensive midfielder and Bruno Guimaraes may be in the box-to-box role. On the other hand, Martin Odegaard should start in the creative midfield position. In that case, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Bukayo Saka is set to be deployed on the right flank, and Eberechi Eze is expected to be on the opposite side, amid Tzolis’ absence. Viktor Gyokeres could be leading the line for the Gunners if Havertz remains sidelined. So, Noni Madueke would be among the substitutes.
