Arsenal eye move to sign Liverpool forward Rio Ngumoha

By on October 12, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on Liverpool defender Rio Ngumoha, as per TEAMtalk.

The Gunners currently have Christos Tzolis as the only specialist left-wing option, but he is set to remain sidelined for a few weeks after sustaining an injury on international duty.

Earlier this season, Mikel Arteta used Eberechi Eze to support Tzolis, but the former Crystal Palace star is a creative midfielder by trait. So, the Spanish boss deployed Noni Madueke on the left flank against Leeds United this weekend, although he is a right-winger by trait.

He displayed a promising performance, helping his side win the game 2-1. Therefore, it appears Arsenal are exploring options to strengthen the left flank.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal are interested in Ngumoha and have been monitoring his development closely before making a potential swoop in the future.

Apart from the North London club, Bayern Munich are also in this race. However, Liverpool have no intention of parting ways with the youngster, valued at around £42m by Transfermarkt, and are close to agreeing on a fresh term with him.

The 18-year-old is a right-footed left-winger by trait but is also comfortable on the opposite side. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas and works hard without possession.

Ngumoha to Arsenal

After moving to Anfield from Chelsea last year, Ngumoha featured as a rotational option last term, making three goal contributions across all competitions.

This campaign, he has continued to play as a backup option. Still, Ngumoha has already made his senior debut for the England national team.

He is a talented forward and possesses high potential. However, he is still a raw talent and needs time to develop. Therefore, Ngumoha could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services next year.

Meanwhile, following a 2-1 victory over Leeds United in the Premier League, Arteta’s side are set to face LOSC Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
