Wenger Offers Oxlade-Chamberlain Injury Update – Not Good News

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out for three to four weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Ox was forced off shortly after half-time during our 2-1 FA Cup victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

The midfielder had a scan on Wednesday and initial reports suggested he was likely to miss up to a month, and unfortunately the boss has confirmed those fears.

Speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s clash with West Ham, Wenger told reporters that Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the next three to four weeks.

It means he’ll sit out games against West Ham, Monaco and Newcastle this month while he’ll also be a major doubt to take on Liverpool after the international break.

It’s a big blow as The Ox was just starting to find some form but his absence will open the door for the likes of Theo Walcott – who’s found first team football hard to come by in recent weeks.
