Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, as per the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old came into the spotlight having displayed impressive performances for Stade Rennais. After being attracted by him, Los Blancos decided to purchase him back in 2021.

The Frenchman has enjoyed great success at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, winning two La Liga titles, as many Champions League trophies, and several other major cup competitions.

However, Camavinga has had numerous fitness problems over the last few years. As a result, he has failed to flourish in his career in the Spanish capital.

The midfielder started only 23 matches across all competitions last term, making three goal contributions. Having struggled to showcase his best last season, he failed to secure his place in France’s World Cup squad.

Now, the Daily Mail report that Real Madrid could be open to cashing-in on Camavinga this summer to create space for a new midfielder. Manchester City star Rodrigo Hernandez is keen on joining the record European champions, and several people inside the club have urged Florentino Pérez to sign the Spaniard, although he is reluctant to buy him.

Arsenal are interested in signing Camavinga, but they will have to overcome stiff competition to seal the deal as Man City and Chelsea are also plotting a swoop.

Camavinga to Arsenal

With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029, Real Madrid are in a strong position to demand a big fee to sell Camavinga, valued at around £43m by Transfermarkt.

The youngster is a left-footed defensive midfielder by trait but is also efficient in the box-to-box role. Furthermore, he can provide cover in the left-back position if needed.

He is a 6ft 1in tall, technically gifted player. Camavinga is quick, strong, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is efficient in playing threaded passes between the lines.

Moreover, he has an eye for long-range passing and is efficient in defensive contributions. Camavinga is a talented player and possesses the necessary physical attributes to flourish in the Premier League.

So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, they need to be very careful about his recent woeful injury record before finalising the operation.
