Arsenal have learnt the asking price for Lille’s highly rated Moroccan midfielder, Ayyoub Bouaddi, as per talkSPORT.

Bouaddi has emerged as one of the standout players at the ongoing FIFA World Cup, carrying the momentum from his exceptional breakthrough campaign with Lille last season.

The composure and maturity he has displayed on football’s biggest stage stem from the invaluable experience he has already gained, having made his UEFA Champions League debut at just 17 against 15-time European champions Real Madrid, while also becoming Lille’s youngest player since Eden Hazard to reach 50 Ligue 1 appearances.

Across the recently concluded campaign, the teenage midfielder established himself as a key figure in the heart of Lille’s midfield, helping Les Dogues secure a third-place finish in Ligue 1 and automatic qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Despite committing his future to the club by signing a new contract in December, mounting interest from several European heavyweights has fuelled speculation that he could still leave this transfer window.

In recent days, Arsenal Station, citing Football Insider, revealed that Arsenal are the ‘frontrunners’ to sign Bouaddi, who has been ‘fantastic’ at the ongoing World Cup.

Lille place £85m valuation on Bouaddi

Now, according to talkSPORT, Lille have slapped an £85m valuation on the Moroccan international, who is also of keen interest to Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich.

Speaking on the latest edition of talkSPORT’s The Window, football transfer expert Ben Jacobs confirms Arsenal’s interest in Bouaddi and reveals Lille’s steep valuation, although a deal could also be made at a much lower fee if he’s allowed to spend next season on loan with the French club.

He said, ‘This is a fascinating transfer story because Lille are prepared to sell, but they heavily favour a deal for 2027.’

‘It’s €80m (£68m) at the moment but could come down for those that say to Lille a loan back or pre-agreement,’ Jacobs continued.

He added, ‘It’s €100m (£85m) for other clubs that want an immediate transfer, so that’s going to be one to watch.’

With every current Arsenal midfielder aged 26 or older bar Ethan Nwaneri, the club needs to begin planning for the future, and Bouaddi would be an ideal candidate to challenge for a starting place while developing his qualities into those of an archetypal Mikel Arteta midfielder and an assured first-team starter under the manager.
