Arsenal plotting audacious swoop to sign Endrick from Madrid
Arsenal are keeping tabs on on-loan Real Madrid centre-forward Endrick ahead of a potential move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer, according to CaughtOffside.
Endrick was one of the most sought-after talents while on the books of 12-time Campeonato Brasileiro Série A side Palmeiras.
He became the club’s youngest-ever debutant after making his debut for the São Paulo-based outfit in the 4-0 win against Coritiba in October 2022 at 16 years, two months and 16 days.
Not long after, he netted the 3-1 win over Athletico Paranaense, becoming the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer, and he famously marked the milestone by replicating Erling Haaland’s trademark celebration.
He went on to net 21 more goals for Palmeiras before agreeing to a move to Madrid in the summer of 2024 after a fierce transfer battle.
However, things did not go to plan in the Spanish capital, where he featured for only 946 minutes before heading out on loan to Lyon in January to gain regular playing time.
Since arriving in France, he has been one of the key players for Paulo Fonseca’s side, providing 14 goal contributions in 17 games, drawing keen interest from clubs including Arsenal.
This is according to CaughtOffside, which claims that the Gunners are keeping close tabs on Endrick’s situation amid a growing sense Madrid could be open to his departure in the summer.
Arsenal ‘big admirers’ of Endrick
The report adds that the Gunners are ‘big admirers’ of the exciting forward and have now shortlisted him among their possible attacking options for next summer.
With Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli facing uncertain futures at the Emirates, and Gabriel Jesus expected to depart the club in the summer, Arsenal are now eyeing a move for Endrick, who can play across the frontline, CaughtOffside adds.
The Brazilian international is still regarded as one of Europe’s most promising talents. Madrid would be keen to retain their prized asset unless the Gunners fork out an irresistible offer well above his £30m Transfermarkt valuation.
Since joining Lyon in January, no other Ligue 1 player has provided more assists than Endrick this season, while his 29 big chances are also more than any other player in Ligue 1 since January.
While certain aspects of his game remain unrefined, he could still find an ideal role at Arsenal as a supporting option behind Viktor Gyökeres, bringing a different attacking profile compared to the Swede, whose style leans more toward a traditional poacher.
