Arsenal in talks to sign Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi

Arsenal are preparing to submit a formal offer to sign Club Brugge centre-forward Nicolo Tresoldi next summer, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Rising through the development setup at Hannover 96, Tresoldi spent much of his early career progressing within the club’s ranks before earning his senior debut on July 5, 2022, when he appeared late on in a 2–1 defeat, replacing Maximilian Beier in the 88th minute.
He subsequently made 79 additional appearances for Die Roten, scoring 14 goals and registering six assists, paving the way for a transfer to Club Brugge last summer.
Since arriving in Belgium, he has adapted quickly, currently leading the Belgian Pro League scoring charts with 13 goals this season, while his total contributions have already reached 24 across all competitions for Brugge.
On the international stage, the 21-year-old delivered a standout performance during last March’s break, earning Man of the Match honours after scoring twice in Germany U21’s 3–0 victory over Northern Ireland U21 in the European Championship qualifiers.
Now, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, has been in contact with Brugge to discuss the 6ft 1in forward’s transfer to the Emirates Stadium next summer.
The club are now accelerating efforts to complete the transfer, with the Italian outlet claiming the North Londoners are preparing to submit a formal £25m offer to the Belgian club in the summer.
Tresoldi could replace Gabriel Jesus in the summer
With Gabriel Jesus expected to depart at the end of the season, Tresoldi is viewed as the Brazilian’s potential replacement and a substitute to Viktor Gyökeres, who is still expected to lead Mikel Arteta’s attack next season, according to the report.
While Gyökeres is adjusting to the demands of English football with 12 Premier League goals and 18 in all competitions, the Swedish forward remains bereft of a worthy competitor up front.
Mikel Arteta has regularly utilised Kai Havertz in that role, like in the recent 2-1 defeat to Manchester City. Although he has occasionally shown brilliance, as evidenced by his win against Sporting CP, his injury concerns and his inconsistent ability to maintain his level have further underscored the need for a more reliable second-choice forward.
On the other hand, Jesus has been struggling with injuries and fitness issues, which have led to just 320 minutes of football in the league and 866 minutes in all competitions.
As a result, a move for Tresoldi makes sense, as — aside from his goalscoring ability and tireless work off the ball — his reliability would give Arteta a valuable option when making in-game tweaks or resting Gyökeres.
