Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Liverpool – Key duo return as Arteta makes 2 changes
Arsenal can move eight points clear of Manchester City and Aston Villa in the table with a win over defending champions Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
With City and Villa both dropping points on Wednesday night, we have the perfect opportunity to tighten our grip in the title race by beating Liverpool this evening.
David Raya keeps goal once again for Arsenal while Jurrien Timber is picked ahead of Ben White at right-back. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes continue their partnership in the middle of defence with Piero Hincapie given the nod ahead of Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back.
Martin Zubimendi anchors the Arsenal midfield with the in-form Declan Rice unsurprisingly keeping his place in the starting eleven. Martin Odegaard captains the side once again and he’ll be looking to continue his recent run of good form.
Bukayo Saka is recalled to start on the right wing after being named on the bench during the 3-2 win over Bournemouth last time out. Leandro Trossard also comes back into the side with Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli making way.
Viktor Gyokeres keeps his place up front despite his poor form in front of goal so Gabriel Jesus is on the bench.
As for Liverpool, they’re without Alexander Isak, Mo Salah and Hugo Ekitike so Cody Gakpo leads the line up front with Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong offering support in attack.
These are the teams for the game:
Arsenal
Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie, Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard, Saka, Trossard, Gyokeres.
