Arsenal make enquiry for Italian midfielder Nicolò Rovella

Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry about the availability of Nicolo Rovella, as per Gazzetta dello Sport, relayed by Sport Witness.

The Gunners are in the market for a new midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta’s side are exploring options to strengthen their midfield amid doubts over the futures of Jorginho and Thomas Partey.

Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi has been linked, but the focus has shifted to another promising name from Italy.

Rovella, 23, is currently on a two-year loan at Lazio from Juventus and has made a strong impression this season.

Since joining Lazio on loan in August 2023, he has quickly risen as one of Serie A’s most reliable young midfielders.

His development has caught the attention of top European clubs, including several Premier League sides.

His future is still uncertain, with Lazio reportedly dealing with financial problems.

Liverpool and Man City are Also Interested in Rovella

Arsenal are now showing a keen interest in bringing Rovella to England but they face competition from Premier League rivals.

Liverpool and Manchester City are also said to be monitoring the young Italian midfielder closely, according to the report.

Wataru Endo, aged 32, may not be a long-term solution, and Rovella fits the profile of a younger option.

At Manchester City, Pep Guardiola is also looking to reshape his midfield after a season filled with injury concerns.

Rodri missed most of the season due to an ACL injury, while Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan have struggled to impress.

Rovella could offer stability and cover, especially in the defensive midfield position where City have lacked depth.

Transfermarkt values him at around £24 million. He is capable of playing both central and defensive midfield roles.
