Confirmed line-ups: Aston Villa vs Arsenal – Jurrien Timber starts for Gunners
Arsenal face a tough trip to Villa Park to take on Unai Emery’s Aston Villa this evening.
We lost this fixture last season so Mikel Arteta will be desperate for revenge to make a statement in this years title pursuit.
The boss has made a big call by handing Jurrien Timber a start at left-back today. Oleksandr Zinchenko makes way for the Dutchman.
Ben White, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes all keep their places in the Arsenal back four.
Declan Rice starts once again in midfield while Martin Odegaard captain the Gunners once again. Thomas Partey keeps his place in the holding role with Jorginho among the subs.
Bukayo Saka registered a goal and an assist in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Wolves on the opening weekend so he’ll be looking to continue that type of form at Villa today.
Kai Havertz also got himself on the score-sheet last weekend and the German international keep his place up front. Gabriel Martinelli keeps his place on the left wing so Leandro Trossard has to make do with a place on the bench.
Gabriel Jesus has been ruled out with a slight groin injury so Eddie Nketiah is on the bench. Fabio Vieira isn’t involved as he’s set to join Porto on loan.
These are the confirmed line-ups:
Arsenal
Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli
Subs: Ramsdale, Zinchenko, Kiwior, Calafiori, Jorginho, Nelson, Nwaneri, Trossard, Nketiah.
Aston Villa
Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Onana, Tielemans; Bailey, Rogers, McGinn; Watkins
Subs: Gauci, Carlos, Maatsen, Nedeljkovic, Barkley, Buendia, Philogene, Duran, Ramsey
