Arsenal interested in signing Omar Marmoush this summer

By on March 14, 2024

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush this summer, as per the German outlet Bild.

It is an open secret that the Gunners are contemplating signing a new prolific goal-scorer to reinforce their attacking department ahead of next season.

Numerous strikers have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times with Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen being among them. However, it has recently been reported that Arsenal want to sign a versatile forward – who can play anywhere across the frontline.

So, they aren’t willing to make a swoop for Toney or Osimhen as neither of them provides the flexibility that Arsenal are seeking. Therefore, they have decided to explore alternative options with Viktor Gyokeres being suggested as their primary option.

However, the Swedish has a £85m release clause included in his current contract so he would be a very expensive signing for Mikel Arteta’s side. Therefore, Arsenal are seemingly looking to line up an alternative option in-case they miss out on signing Gyokeres with Marmoush now emerging as a key target.

Marmoush to Arsenal

While citing and translating the print version of Bild, Sport Witness has reported that Arsenal have expressed their interest in signing Marmoush and they could make a concrete approach to purchase him this summer.

The report further claims that Frankfurt could demand a fee of around £43m to sell him so he would be a significantly cheaper option for the North London club to reinforce the frontline.

The German outlet also says that Marmoush ‘dreams’ of playing in the Premier League so the Emirates club could manage to acquire his service if they formalise their interest.

However, Bild states that Liverpool are keen on signing him and Marmoush’s compatriot, Mohamed Salah could play a key role in persuading the striker to move to Anfield. So, Arteta’s side will have to overcome stiff competition from the Merseyside club to get any potential deal done for him.

Marmoush has come under the spotlight after displaying promising performances in the Bundesliga this term. So, the North Londoners will be hoping he will be able to replicate the same performance in the Premier League if he joins Arsenal during the off-season.
