Arsenal willing to pay £51m to sign Takefuso Kubo
Arsenal are willing to activate Takefuso Kubo’s £51 million release clause in the summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attack, according to Fichajes.
Predicted to have a ‘busy’ summer in 2024, the Real Sociedad sensation is attracting interest from Arsenal but the report says several other top clubs, including Newcastle, are also keen.
The 22-year-old has the potential to become the next great winger, according to many who have watched him. His ability is highly regarded, and Fichajes asserts that he possesses an attraction on the European market.
Notably, in 19 league games thus far this season, he has scored seven goals and assisted three others, as per WhoScored. Although Real Sociedad are reliant on him, retaining him may prove to be a difficult endeavor.
Fichajes says Arsenal are willing to trigger his £51 million release clause as Arteta looks to bring in attacking reinforcements in the summer transfer window.
Real Madrid, a Kubo transfer threat
However, the Gunners face stiff competition as the report says Newcastle are also willing to meet Kubo’s asking price while Spanish giants Real Madrid are also showing a keen interest in the winger.
According to Fichajes, the fourteen-time European champion are keeping a close eye on Kubo, but they aren’t showing the same level of interest as Arsenal, or indeed Newcastle.
Arsenal could be significantly improved by acquiring a player with Kubo’s abilities and he could be the ideal backup for Bukayo Saka. According to WhoScored’s analysis of his performances at various positions, he excels at right wing. On the right wing, he has the highest rating at 7.32; he has tallied four goals in sixteen appearances there.
Takefuso Kubo, apart from the acquisition of a striker, could be an ideal complement to Arsenal’s attack as Arteta looks to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts next season.
