Arsenal closing in on a deal to sign Sacha Boey this summer
Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Galatasaray star Sacha Boey this summer, as per the Turkish outlet Takvim.
It has widely been suggested that the Gunners are expected to remain busy in the upcoming transfer window as they are planning to strengthen the squad to challenge on all fronts from next season.
Midfield is an area that Mikel Arteta has prioritised to reinforce this summer, but along with that, bolstering the right-back position is seemingly also on the Spanish boss’ to-do list.
Arsenal have been linked with numerous fullback options over the last few months with Joao Cancelo, Ridle Baku and Ivan Fresneda being among them. But, Boey is emerging as a serious target in recent times.
According to the report by Takvim, Arsenal have seriously been considering a move for Boey this summer and they have already submitted a £15m offer to secure the Frenchman’s signature.

However, the report claims that Galatasaray has rejected the Gunners opening proposal and want at least £22m[€25m] to let their star man leave. But Takvim says that Cimbom may eventually lower their valuation and accept a fee of around £17m[€20m].
The report states that Arsenal are expected to be in talks with Galatasaray this week to broker a deal for Boey this summer. So, it is looking likely that Arsenal could purchase the defender to reinforce their fullback position.
Boey has burst onto the scenes in recent times after displaying impressive performances this term, assisting four times and keeping 13 clean-sheets in 31 Super Lig appearances. It appears the 22-year-old’s eye-catching performances for Galatasaray have attracted the attention of the Premier League giant, Arsenal.
The youngster is quick, excellent in defensive contributions, can play out from the back and also reads the game extremely well. He is a talented player and possesses high potential so he could be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal if they manage to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually manage to purchase Boey this summer to strengthen their backline for next season.
