Arsenal reportedly remain interested in signing Premier League duo Youri Tielemans and Ruben Neves over the coming months, as per the transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Premier League leaders have been busy in this transfer market and have already purchased Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior to strengthen the squad in order to keep their momentum going throughout the rest of this season.

Mikel Arteta has recently revealed that the Gunners haven’t finished their transfer business yet and are keen on making a late swoop for a new midfielder as well before next week’s deadline, following Mohammad Elneny’s injury setback.

Arsenal have been linked with several options to bolster the engine room, with Tielemans and Neves reportedly long-term targets. But, it felt like the north London club had cooled their interest in the Premier League duo in recent times and were exploring other options.

However, speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones has said that Arsenal haven’t distanced themselves from signing Tielemans or Neves, and both are still on the Spanish boss’ wishlist. And Arteta’s side could intensify their efforts to sign either of them before next week’s deadline or in the summer.

Arsenal remain interested

Jones said:

“Players like Youri Tielemans or Ruben Neves are still players I’d consider to be on Arsenal’s list. They’re players we should probably look out for in this window or at the end of the season.”

Tielemans – valued at around £35m by Transfermarkt – has entered the final six months of his current contract and has rejected an opportunity to sign an extension. So, he could leave the King Power Stadium for a cut-price deal this month or for free at the end of this season.

On the other hand, Neves appeared to be on his way out of Molineux Stadium and it seemed he bid farewell to the fans at the end of last season. However, a deal didn’t materialise last summer and in the end, he remained at Wolves.

The midfielder – valued at around £35m by Transfermarkt – has only 18 months left on his current contract and is yet to sign a renewal. So, if Julen Lopetegui’s side fail to persuade the Portuguese to sign a new deal soon then they could be forced to cash in on him over the coming months before his price decreases.

It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal will make a concrete approach to sign Tielemans or Neves this January. Both have proved their worth in the Premier League during their time with their respective clubs and would be excellent additions to Arteta’s squad if they could get a deal agreed before next weeks deadline.

£35m for Neves, ars-enal must be on drugs if they think they can get him for that, double it and they “might stand a chance although he wants to go to much bigger clubs than ars-enal.

I looks more to me like you’re the one on drugs because I don’t understand what you mean by much bigger clubs. Moreover Neves is not better than ødegaard at the moment.
