[Image] 25-year-old recalled to start, Willian out: My Arsenal line-up vs Tottenham
Arsenal take on Tottenham in the North London Derby at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. This is the team I’d like to see Mikel Arteta select for the match…
Bernd Leno will start in goal, obviously, and I’d stick with the same back four that started against Olympiacos on Thursday night. Gabriel showed why he’s our best centre-back with a terrific display and as much as I’m not his biggest fan, David Luiz deserves to keep his place, too.
Kieran Tierney should be one of the first names on the team-sheet for Arsenal while I think Hector Bellerin is the best option at right-back. Cedric Soares is definitely pushing him close but Hector knows how important the NLD is, so he gets the nod.
This is a huge game for Thomas Partey and hopefully he takes the game by the scruff of the neck as we badly need a top performance from him against Spurs. Granit Xhaka will partner Partey in the middle of the park. Let’s hope he doesn’t gift them any cheap goals.
Bukayo Saka will obviously keep his place in the Arsenal attack and I back our wonderkid to cause Spurs plenty of problems tomorrow. Willian seems to be back in Arteta’s plans and he is playing marginally better but I’d still opt for Nicolas Pepe. The 25-year-old is a huge threat and I’d rather Pepe starts over Willian.
Emile Smith Rowe is pushing for a recall but I think Martin Odegaard deserves to keep his place. He scored a stunner against Olympiacos and has been really impressive lately so I’d like to see him in the No.10 tomorrow.
Obviously Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should keep his place up front for Arsenal so we’ll have the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Gabriel Martinelli on the bench.
This would be my line-up:
