Arsenal have crashed out of the FA Cup after being beaten 3-1 by Manchester United at the Emirates tonight.

Some woeful defending allowed Alexis Sanchez to beat the offside trap, round Petr Cech and score from a tight angle to make it 1-0 before United ripped us apart on the counter just two minutes later to make it 2-0 through Jesse Lingard.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made it 2-1 on the stroke of half-time but with Sokratis and Laurent Koscielny off injured, our patched up defence was torn open again late on as Anthony Martial made it 3-1 after Cech could only parry Pogba’s effort.

Here are my ratings:

Cech 4/10 | Decent early save at Pogba’s feet but done by Sanchez for the opener,  beaten far too easily by Lingard for the second and should have pushed Pogba’s effort further away for the third. No surprises he’s retiring based on this display.

Maitland-Niles 5/10 | Very nervy all game. Played Sanchez onside for the first goal and distribution was poor. Didn’t look comfortable at right-back.

Sokratis N/A | Forced off with a knee injury early on. Hopefully it’s not serious but it didn’t look good.

Koscielny  5/10 | Dragged out of position for the first goal and nowhere to be seen for the second. Subbed in the second half with a suspected broken jaw.

Kolašinac  5.5/10 | Dangerous going forwards but caught too far up field on several occasions. He’s a big threat for us but feel he’s better as a wing-back than left-back.

Torreira  5/10 | Poor form continues. Sloppy in possession and did nothing to prevent United’s devastating counter attacks.

Xhaka  6/10 | Average game from the Swiss international. Poor at times in the first half but did dictate the tempo when we were on top. Moved to centre-back when Koscielny went off but should have closed Pogba down for the third goal.

Ramsey  6.5/10 | Set up our goal and almost got an equaliser early in the second half with a fine header. One of our better players on the night.

Iwobi  5/10 | Plenty of willing and running from Iwobi but little end product, not for the first time. Subbed in the second half.

Aubameyang  6/10 | On hand to make it 1-2 just before half time with a simple finish. Worked hard, especially in the first half, but barely got any service in the second half.

Lacazette  7/10 | Worked his socks off all night and went close with a couple of powerful strikes, but sloppy lay off cost us the third goal.

Mustafi  6/10 | Made a couple of fine challenges but backed off Pogba for the third goal.

Ozil  5/10 | Very sloppy at times. Not his finest cameo and certainly didn’t do enough to force his way in to Emery’s side.

Guendouzi  6/10 | Busy as always and kept the ball moving.

It was a weird game as Arsenal dominated for much of the match but we were pretty toothless in attack and were woeful in defence. You can point to the loss of Sokratis and Koscielny for the third goal but we were just as open with them on the field. Emery needs to sort things out asap, starting with the defence. Hopefully neither injury is serious as we’re down to the bare bones at the back. Cardiff up next on Tuesday…

Its not Cech was woeful .When MU scored there were many gaps in front of him . When the gunners wanted to score they had a crowded defence infront. Even Houdini would have a problem getting out.
Untile Emery speeds up the attack instead of playing a patient build up,the gunners will finding scoring tough due to an organised defence confronting them.
To compound the problem the gunners like to engage in a passing frenzy in front of goal and when the ball is intercepted,2/3/4 passes the ball is in the gunners net.In an attacking frenzy more space is left and a swift counter attack by the enemy and 2 goals down.
Can the gunners go direct and indulge in less passing.
Btw,it doesn’t mean if you have more possession you will win .
Its the speed of attack and no defence or acres of space that allow you to score.

This was exactly a Wenger performance of the worst kind. Nothings changed since Emery took over.

I don’t know if it’s lack of proper signings, but Arsenal have in no way gotten better since Emery took over.
We went on a 22 game unbeaten streak, and in just few matches United equalled us on the league table.
What the heck is happening! Now we’ve been beaten knocked off the FA Cup in front of our home fans.
