Video: Arsenal 3-0 Watford: Cech saves penalty as Gunners beat Hornets
We finally picked up three points in the Premier League after beating Watford 3-0 at the Emirates this afternoon.
It was a rare positive start and we broke the deadlock inside the opening 10 minutes when Mustafi powered home a header from Ozil’s free-kick.
Just as Watford were starting to dominate after the break we made it 2-0 and it was our January signings who combined as Mkhitaryan found Aubameyang with a lovely through-ball and the striker cooly rounded the keeper and rolled the ball home for 2-0.
Maitland-Niles then immediately gave away a penalty so it looked as though Watford were going to half the deficit. However, Cech SAVED Deeney’s spot kick to maintain his clean sheet.
It was all over in the 77th minute as Aubameyang set-up Mkhitaryan and the playmaker fired home for 3-0 – although the keeper should certainly have done better to keep it out.
The victory means we remain sixth and 8 points off Chelsea while Tottenham are a further two points ahead with a game in hand.
