South American coach ready to replace Wenger as Arsenal manager

According to the Independent, Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim wants to become the new Arsenal manager if Arsene Wenger leaves the club this summer.
Wenger’s position has come under increasing pressure following our disappointing Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City at the weekend as the loss was the latest in a string of shocking performances from the players.
We crashed out of the FA Cup at the third round stage to Nottingham Forest and are currently 10 points off fourth-placed Tottenham so the Europa League is our only realistic hope left this season.
An exit to AC Milan in the last-16 would all-but guarantee we’ll be without Champions League football again next season and that could reportedly see Wenger finally sacked this summer.
The bosses position will come under review even if we do somehow manage to qualify for the Champions League and Wenger was cagey when quizzed about his future at his press conference today.
Several names have been put forward in the media as potential replacements with Jardim among them and the Independent claims the Monaco boss is keen to take over if Wenger leaves this summer.
Jardim has worked wonders at Monaco having won the Ligue 1 title ahead of PSG and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, despite working under a tight budget.
However, the Independent says the Venezuelan-born coach wants a new challenge and is the early favourite to replace Wenger as he’s highly regarded among the Arsenal hierarchy.
I don’t think there is any doubt that we need a change of manager this summer and Jardim would be an interesting appointment. The 43-year-old likes to play attacking football and prefers to work with younger players rather than established stars so he could be a good fit at the Emirates.
Let’s see what happens but I just hope Kronke has the balls to finally sack Wenger and we get a fresh start at Arsenal. If Jardim is the man they go for, great, but I think there are plenty of viable candidates out there.
