[Teams] Arsenal duo start for countries in World Cup qualifiers
The international fixtures continue tonight and two Arsenal stars have been selected to start for their nations in World Cup qualifiers.
Nacho Monreal is by no means a first team regular for Spain but the defender has been given the chance to impress against Israel this evening with the already qualified Spaniard’s rotating their squad.
Monreal has enjoyed an excellent start to the new season with Arsenal so hopefully he can take that form in to the international stage with his country.
Spain
Reina; Azpilicueta, Nacho, Ramos, Monreal; Busquets, Illarramendi; Pedro, Viera, Asensio; Aduriz.
Aaron Ramsey is also in action as he starts in midfield for Wales’ crucial World Cup showdown against Republic of Ireland as the two teams face-off for a place in Russia.
Wales head in to the game sitting second – just one point above Ireland and one behind leaders Serbia who face Georgia at home so it’s all to play for in Cardiff.
Wales
Hennessey, Gunter, Williams, Chester, Davies, Allen, Ledley, Ramsey, King, Lawrence, Robson-Kanu.
ROI
Randolph, Ward, Clark, Duffy, Christie, Brady, Hendrick, Meyler, Arter, McClean, Murphy.
