[Photos] Sanchez jokes with Wenger in training after being told he’s staying
Alexis Sanchez was in good spirits as he met with Arsene Wenger in training today amid reports he’s been told the club won’t sanction his sale this month.
Sanchez returned to London Colney yesterday after enjoying an extended break following his participation at the Confederations Cup while his return was also delayed by a bout of flu.
The Chilean international took part in light individual training on Tuesday but he was back with the rest of the first team squad this afternoon as he looks to get himself fit for the season opener against Leicester next week.
The Daily Mail claim that the boss held talks with Alexis at our training base and made it perfectly clear he wouldn’t be sold this summer, and certainly not to a rival such as Man City or Chelsea.
There have been reports that Sanchez was ready to force a move away from the club after refusing to sign a new contract and I’ve even seen some suggest he’ll go on strike.
However, despite all the speculation surrounding his future, he looked pretty content to me as photos have emerged showing Alexis smiling and joking with Wenger on the training pitch today.
