Wilshere starts in 4-2-3-1 line-up: My Arsenal XI to face Norwich

Arsenal take on Norwich on Saturday evening desperately needing all three points to not only cement our top four place but also to close the gap on Tottenham….this is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with….

Goalkeeper: Cech

Cech is our No.1 and should start ahead of Ospina. Simple.

Defence: Bellerin, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal

I think it’s safe to say the defence has looked far more at ease since Mertesacker returned and it’s led to consecutive clean sheets. He may not be the fastest, but Per has excellent positional sense and obviously his height is also useful.

Therefore, I think we should stick with the same back four of Mertesacker, Koscielny, Bellerin and Monreal this weekend.

Midfield: Wilshere, Coquelin

Suddenly we’ve got plenty of options in midfield now with practically everybody available. Cazorla is back in contention but only for a place in the squad as he’s not 100% match fit yet.

Wilshere made his long-awaited first appearance of the season with a 10-minute run out against Sunderland last weekend and I’d love to see him start against Norwich. He might not have 90 minutes in him yet but I’d start him and haul him off after 60 minutes.

Ramsey was very poor against Sunderland so I’d leave him out while I’d also give Elneny a rest and recall Coquelin – who should be fresh after two games on the bench.

Attack: Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez

Obviously Sanchez and Ozil are going to start so the question is who the third attacker should be. Iwobi has been excellent since breaking in to the team and while he was below his best last weekend, so were many others so it would be harsh to leave the youngster out.

In any case, who would we bring in? Walcott has been awful off the bench and is showing no desire that he wants to be a regular again. Campbell has a decent case to be given a chance but I’d still go with Iwobi.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is also in full training again but the boss has suggested this game comes too soon.

Striker: Welbeck

Welbeck was surprisingly left out of the eleven against Sunderland so I’d certainly recall him on Saturday. Giroud was woeful last time out and hasn’t scored for over 13 hours!

This would be my line-up:

No excuses on Saturday. Nothing but three points will do or we will be in serious danger of missing out on the top four….
