Ratings: Super Sanchez inspires Arsenal to 2-0 win over West Brom
Arsenal picked up a welcome three points with a Alexis Sanchez scoring both goals to secure a routine 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates on Thursday night.
These are my ratings:
Cech 6 – Made a few routine saves but flapped at a couple of corners.
Bellerin 7.5 – Proved again why he deserves to be named in the PFA Team of the Year.
Mertesacker 6.5 – Good to see him back in the team. The defence seemed more composed with him in the side.
Koscielny 6.5 – Made easy work of a limited West Brom attack. Rarely tested.
Monreal 6.5 – Another solid display from Nacho. No problems in defence and got forward on occasion.
Ramsey 7.5 – We’ve missed his energy in the team. Rambo didn’t stop running but he was a little rusty in the final third.
Elneny 7 – Worked hard in the holding role and was at the hub of everything.
Iwobi 6.5 – Another lively display for the talented youngster but his decision making in the box let him down a few times.
Sánchez 8.5 – Back to his best. Broke the deadlock with a fine 20-yarder and secured the win with a lovely free-kick. Was clearly up for this game.
Ozil 7.5 – Always keen to be involved in the build-up play but struggled to be his creative self in the final third.
Giroud 6 – Struggled to get in the game early on but more involved after the break. Unfortunate not to score late on as his shot crashed off Fosters face.
Subs:
Coquelin 6 – On to secure the win in the final 10 minutes.
Walcott N/A
Campbell N/A
