Photo: Arsenal star snapped back in training ahead of Zagreb clash
Arsenal have been handed a boost as Per Mertesacker has taken part in full training ahead of our Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb tomorrow night.
The German giant has missed our last three matches against Newcastle, Liverpool and Stoke duo to a nasty virus that he’s struggled to shake off.
Mertesacker was also involved in a car crash on Monday that saw him skip into the central reservation on the M1 but it appears he’s suffered no ill-effects and is now in contention to play on Wednesday night.
Arsene Wenger confirmed at his press conference a short time ago that of those players who took part in training, only Aaron Ramsey and Hector Bellerin haven’t travelled to Croatia – with the duo rested – so it looks like Per could be back in the squad.
We’ll have to wait and see whether he comes straight back in to the starting eleven though as Gabriel has excelled in his absence.
