Video: Individual Highlights Of Mesut Ozil’s Superb Display v Monaco

Arsenal produced an excellent performance last night to almost pull off a miracle in the Champions League after beating Monaco 2-0 at the Stade Louis II Stadium.

We just came up short in the end, crashing out on the familiar away goals rule, but we can be proud of our efforts in the second leg and one man in particular stood out.

Mesut Ozil is a divisive figure, even among our own Arsenal fan base, but the majority of sane Gooners agree he was excellent last night.

The German pulled the strings in midfield, dictated play and worked his socks off until the very last minute to try and grab the third goal we desperately craved.

Predictably, he’s drawn criticism from idiotic ‘pundits’ like Paul Scholes while some newspapers have gone with the boring ‘Ozil fails to deliver yet again’ headlines just to attract clicks.

But the fact is, Ozil was arguably our best player last night and this video of his individual highlights proves it. If you don’t get what he brings to the side by now, you never will. Enjoy:
