Monreal OUT, Wilshere IN: Arsenal’s Starting XI To Take On Man Utd

Jack-Wilshere

Arsenal welcome former champions Manchester United to the Emirates this weekend. Here is the side I think Arsene Wenger should put out for the game.

Wojciech Szczesny will start in goal, obviously, but not for the first time in recent weeks, I’d like to see us make a change at the back.

Laurent Koscielny and Mathieu Debuchy are still at least three weeks away from returning and Nacho Monreal in the middle just isn’t working for me. Therefore, I’d like Chambers to move alongside Mertesacker and give young Hector Bellerin a chance at right back.

This would mean players playing in their natural positions and give us a far more balanced back-four.

Mikel Arteta is available again after recovering from a hamstring injury but for me, Jack Wilshere has proven he has what it takes to play in the ‘holding’ role after come excellent displays for England. He’s by no means a natural in that position, but neither is Arteta, and Jack offers us much more than the Spaniard.

So let’s give him a chance and play Ramsey in a slightly more advanced role in midfield. They are our two best central players so why not see if we can find a formation to fit them both in.

Cazorla should keep his place on the left, despite some questionable displays of late, while I’d keep The Ox on the right as Theo Walcott isn’t ready to start yet. He’s only had 10 minutes of first team football in over 10 months, so let’s give him a run-out in the second half.

Olivier Giroud is available again after recovering from his ankle injury but I doubt he’s match sharp yet, so Danny Welbeck should keep his place up front with Alexis Sanchez in support.

Here’s how I’d line-up:

In reality, Arsene will probably stick with Monreal at the back and drop one of Ramsey or Wilshere for Arteta. Either way, let’s hope we put in a much-improved performance as we’ve got a great chance to finally beat United this weekend.

The team is spot on except Sanchex should play on one of the flank and play Carzola in his preferred number 10 role. the team would have pace to burn on both flanks and up front with a passer/supplier in the middle. later in the game bring on Walcott for Carzola and add more pace, then Sanchez can come back in the middle.
this youtful team could matchup and have more pace than manu

      We LOST !!!!!

Not such a great idea was it ?????

WENGER IS A USELESS WASTE OF SPACE

The sooner he leaves the better.

The most over rated manager on the planet – still judged from successes ten years ago.

I despise the sight of Mourinho but I have a lot more respect for him than Wenger – Wenger is just a spineless, spiteful, whining excuse for a human being. I look forward to the day when he is gone…

Bonaroca:- I like the formation chosen but would prefer Cazorla in the middle
with Sanchez on the wing, because he could expose the United defence by cutting
in the middle and giving Wellbeck and the Ox more chance to score.

Wenger’s record against MU is shambolic. He better note teams know how
the gunners play. It’s pass after pass after pass and no shooting until you can see the whites of the goalie.
Hopefully I am wrong and they can finally win against the rd. A loss would be traumatic and the Emirates would be shaken to the foundations.
