Wenger Met Agent To Enquire About Aurier PLUS Koscielny Deal Close
French-based journalist Matt Spiro has claimed that Arsene Wenger met with Laurent Koscielny’s agent in London on Thursday to discuss a new contract and also enquire about Serge Aurier.
Speculation in recent days has suggested that we’re trying to tie Kos down to a new deal as he’s currently only on £50,000-a-week. Now that’s a vast sum to the average person, but when you compare it to Mertesacker, who’s on £90k, and Vermaelen on £70k, you can understand why the club are keen to offer him a pay rise.
It seems we’ve stepped up these attempts with journalist Matt Spiro – who is also the presenter of The Ligue 1 Show – tweeting saying Arsene met with the centre-backs agent, Stéphane Courbis, in London yesterday to discuss terms and an extension is understood to be close to being agreed.
Also on the agenda was another of Courbis’ clients, Serge Aurier, with Arsene seemingly making enquiries over the right-back.
Aurier has long been linked with a move to the Emirates and is a self-confessed Gooner, and with Bacary Sagna’s contract talks still stalling, the Ivory Coast international could be the ideal replacement.
However, Spiro suggests that the likes of PSG, Monaco, AC Milan, Man City and Chelsea are also interested in the 21-year-old.
Wenger met Koscielny's agent Courbis in London y'day. Close to agreeing extension. Also enquired about another client: Serge Aurier (FF)

No question in my mind Toulouse right-back Aurier would be a fine addition. Even if Sagna stays. Strong player, can play left & CB too #AFC

#PSG, #Monaco, #MCFC, #CFC, #ACMilan also following Toulouse's €10m-rated right-back Serge Aurier, according to France Football #AFC #TFC
