Arsenal Turn To Croatian Hitman After Failed Move For Diego Costa

By on April 16, 2014

Some interesting transfer news coming from the Express as they claim that Arsenal have now turned their attention to Mario Mandzukic after giving up on trying to sign Diego Costa.

The newspaper says that we made an ambitious move to sign Costa back in January but were told we had no chance of signing him as Altetico Madrid were still fighting for the La Liga title and still going strong in the Champions League.

We retained our interest but it appears we’ve now given up hope of landing him this summer as the report claims the Brazilian-born striker is set to join Chelsea instead. All the talk in recent weeks has been about Costa moving to Stamford Bridge and it does appear odds-on, so unfortunately it looks like we’ve missed out.

But don’t fear, the Express state that Arsene Wenger has now set his sights on Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic, who’s set to fall down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena when Robert Lewandowski arrives in the summer.

The Croatian international has already voiced his concerns over his role when Lewandowski joins so a move could be on the cards and Bayern could be persuaded to do business for between £20m-£25m.

Even though Mandzukic is in a similar mold to Olivier Giroud, he’s certainly an upgrade on the Frenchman and his goal-scoring record is excellent, as he’s managed 24 goals this season despite not always being a regular starter.

I’d love to see the 27-year-old join Arsenal this summer but I also feel we need to bring in a forward who has raw pace and could offer something a little different to just the traditional ‘target man’ role.

Who would you like to see join Arsenal this summer?

Chelsea are willing to pay 50 million pounds. Costa is worth max 40 million pounds. Well if costa is gone then Mario Mandzukic is the next option. A fee between 22.8 and 24 million pounds is more than enough for Mandzukic. After buying Mandzukic, arsenal should buy Loic Remy for 10 million pounds. That way we have a blend of pace and power. Mandzukic and Remy are my two stikers for arsenal to buy. If we can we should keep Giroud as the third choice striker. But I think the lad Giroud will leave in the summer.

Sanogo has to go out on loan to club in his native country. He needs to get a run of games to his name. He isn’t arsenal material yet. So I feel a loan move back to france is the best for Sanogo.

After spending nearly 35 million pounds on Mandzukic and Remy. Arsenal must spend 35 million pounds on Reus and 20 million pounds on Bender. But if we fail to sign Reus. We must buy Draxler in his place. And ill say it again. Change the formation to 3-5-2. In which Mandzukic will be the main striker and Podolski as the second striker behind him. That combination will be awesome. With Rues and Walcott on the wings and Ozil and ramsey in midfield. Arsenals attack will be great. Nd with Koscielny, Mertesacker and Vermealen at the back we will be defensively solid. Bender or Flamini can also support the defence. This formation and lineup will be great and with the likes of Rosicky,Cazorla,Chamberlain,Wilshere,Remy on the bench. We will be great.

Good players Raul but the key problem at Arsenal is that we lack the physical size and strength in the Premiership that we used to have with Vieira and Gilberto and therefore our midfield tends to get bullied by more physical sides such as City and Chelsea.
Bender is a good player as is Moutinho or Javi Martinez should Bayern sell him.
Vermaelin is not the player he used to be…

But bro Javi martinez is a liability for bayern munich. He is very predictable and isn’t that great. He is gd. But is very slow. Mandzukic is physical nd is faster than Giroud. Rues is a natural winger. Or even Draxler both r quality players. Bender isn’t bullied off the ball much. Its players players like Cazorla and Wilshere who r weak. To be honest Mandzukic Rues Podolski,Ramsey,Bender,Koscielny are all fighters. They support the physical side of the game for us. Besides we suffered too many injuries. I wanna know what’s really goin on with Arsenals medical staff.
