Arsenal Make €28m Bid For Colombian Attacker – Reports
Arsenal appear to be getting busy in the transfer market with reports in Spain claiming that we’ve made a €28m bid for Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado.
Despite widespread reports suggesting we are closing in on Alexis Sanchez, Spanish outlet Sport suggest that Arsene Wenger could be on the look-out for another attacker after testing Fiorentina’s resolve with a big-money bid for Cuadrado.
The 26-year-old has just impressed at the World Cup with his adventurous display’s down the right leading to speculation about a possible move to the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United.
However, Sport claim we are the only club to have made a formal offer so far but it was instantly rejected by the Serie A club, who are thought to be holding out for nearer €40m.
It’s not clear whether Arsene see’s Cuadrado as a potential fall-back option in case the Sanchez deal doesn’t come off, or the boss wants to bring in two attackers this summer, but it’s good to see us finally putting some big-money bids in for quality players.
I personally don’t think the boss would buy both Sanchez and Cuadrado, so he’s probably just testing the water to see what other deals are available in-case we don’t land Sanchez.
However, all the signs are that we’re firmly in the driving seat for the Chilean and it’s just as well, because Sport claim that Cuadrado has his heart set on playing for Barca, so we’d probably struggle to land the Colombian if the Catalans firm up their interest too.
