Predicted Arsenal line-up against Fleetwood Town
Arsenal are set to travel to Highbury Stadium to take on Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup fourth-round fixture tonight.
The Gunners have reached this stage of this competition by defeating Ipswich Town 4-2 in the previous round. On the other hand, Mikel Arteta’s side are currently second in the Premier League table on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently seventh in the Champions League table with seven points from three matches. So, they are showing signs of challenging on all fronts once again this campaign.
Fleetwood, on the other hand, have displayed disappointing performances thus far this season, languishing 18th in League Two with 14 points from 13 matches. They are coming into this fixture off the back of two consecutive defeats against Cheltenham Town and Exeter City.
Team news
William Saliba and Christos Tzolis remain sidelined due to their respective injury problems, while Bukayo Saka is also not available for selection owing to his recent issue, which he suffered against Bayern Munich last week.
However, the good news is that Piero Hincapié and Cristhian Mosquera have recovered from their injuries and are likely to be involved tonight. Martin Zubimendi has also returned to full fitness after remaining sidelined due to an ankle problem. But he picked up a nose injury against Everton last weekend.
Predicted line-up
Arteta is expected to make a few changes to his starting line-up for this cup game, with Kepa Arrizabalaga set to be in goal. This means David Raya would get a midweek break.
Marli Salmon could be deployed in the centre-back position, and Mosquera may start alongside the 17-year-old for the North London club. Therefore, Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes would be among the substitutes.
Jurrien Timber might be in the right-back position, and Hincapié is likely to be on the opposite side. Therefore, Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Myles Lewis-Skelly could be paired up with Zubimendi in the double midfield pivot role, while Bruno Guimaraes may complete the midfield trio. In that case, Declan Rice, Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard would feature as substitutes if needed.
Eberechi Eze is expected to keep hold of his place on the left flank, and Max Dowman could be on the opposite side. Viktor Gyokeres should lead the line for Arsenal tonight.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Fleetwood Town
Kepa; Timber, Salmon, Mosquera, Hincapié; Lewis-Skelly, Zubimendi, Guimaraes; Dowman, Gyokeres, Eze
