Arsenal plotting January swoop to sign Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi

By on October 24, 2026

Arsenal are plotting a swoop to sign Club Brugge centre-forward Nicolo Tresoldi in the January transfer window, according to the Sun.

Tresoldi has established himself as one of Europe’s most productive young centre-forwards in recent seasons, having progressed through Hannover’s academy before breaking into the senior team. He made 79 appearances for the German club, scoring 14 times and registering six assists across all competitions.

Club Brugge moved to secure his services last summer, continuing their strategy of investing in promising young players.

The decision has paid off handsomely, as Tresoldi has amassed 41 goal contributions since arriving at the Jan Breydel Stadium. His 19 goals in the Jupiler Pro League last season earned him the competition’s top scorer award, while his performances also helped Brugge complete a domestic double.

The 22-year-old has shown little sign of slowing down this term, already finding the net nine times in 13 appearances. That tally includes a memorable hat-trick at the San Siro, where he helped Brugge claim a 4-3 UEFA Champions League victory over Inter Milan.

It’s no surprise his prolific form is attracting attention, with the Sun reporting that Arsenal are plotting a January swoop to sign Tresoldi.

Prolific forward

Amid Viktor Gyokeres’ worrying form, where he’s yet to score, the report adds that the situation has prompted the Gunners to assess centre-forward options, with Tresoldi now being targeted.

Having rebuffed a £30m offer from Roma in the summer, Brugge have placed a £42m valuation on the Italian-born Germany U21 international, who is also of keen interest to AC Milan, according to the report.

Gyokeres was handed his first Premier League start of the season in the 2-0 win over Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

Although the Swede impressed with his hold-up play and brilliant layoffs, it marked his tenth game without a goal in all competitions.

As a result, signing a prolific centre-forward to bolster Mikel Arteta’s attack would be ideal, making Tresoldi a viable option.

Bukayo Saka’s injury has heightened Arsenal’s need for more firepower upfront, with him reportedly sidelined for weeks.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, signing at least one additional attacker should be a no-brainer, and £42m for a player of Tresoldi’s qualities would be an absolute steal.
