Arsenal showing ‘greatest interest’ in signing Tzolis
Arsenal are reportedly showing the ‘greatest interest’ in signing Club Brugge forward Christos Tzolis, as per a recent report.
Since moving to Jan Breydel Stadium from Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2024, the 24-year-old has won a Belgian Pro League and a couple of domestic cup competitions.
In his debut campaign for Club Brugge, the Greek showed glimpses of his goal-scoring prowess, making 37 goal contributions across all competitions.
However, the forward took his game to another level last season, scoring 22 goals and notching up 29 assists in 52 appearances in all tournaments.
Having proven his worth in club football, Tzolis has established himself as a key starter in the Greece national team’s starting line-up.
Now, as per a recent report (via TEAMtalk), after being impressed by his recent eye-catching performances, Arsenal are showing the ‘greatest interest’ in purchasing him.
Crystal Palace previously expressed their interest in Tzolis, but Arsenal are currently the frontrunners in this race, having monitored his development for a long time.
Tzolis to Arsenal
Although the player still has a contract until 2029, he would be open to moving to the Emirates Stadium if they make a formal approach. Club Brugge want a club record fee of around £35m to sell him, and Arsenal are ready to finalise the operation by matching the asking price.
After winning the Premier League title last term, the North London club are keen on reinforcing several areas of the squad this summer to continue challenging on all fronts.
They want a new left-winger and have been linked with a host of names. Tzolis is a left-winger by trait but is comfortable on the opposite side as well. Furthermore, he can provide cover centrally if needed.
He is quick, can create opportunities for fellow attackers, has an eye for long-range passing, and is efficient at taking penalties.
He is a highly talented player and has proven his worth in the Belgian top-flight in recent years. So, Tzolis might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in this summer transfer window.
