Arsenal now eyeing move for FC Midtjylland star Dario Osorio

By on June 25, 2026

Arsenal have expressed interest in signing highly rated Chilean forward Darío Osorio from FC Midtjylland this summer, according to Standard Sport.

Midtjylland have built a strong reputation for nurturing talent over the last decade and have contributed significantly to the development of players such as Simon Kjær, Joachim Andersen and Alexander Sørloth.

Osorio is the latest highly regarded prospect to emerge from the Danish club, having enjoyed a rapid rise since arriving from Chilean outfit Club de Fútbol Universidad de Chile in the summer of 2023.

Since making the move, the 22-year-old has established himself as a vital figure for the Hedens Drenge, making 110 appearances while contributing 23 goals and 15 assists.

At the international level, the midfielder has earned 22 caps for Chile since making his debut in 2022, and his impressive performances for both club and country are expected to see his price tag exceed his current £12m Transfermarkt valuation.

Now, according to Standard Sport, Arsenal hold a long-standing interest in Osorio, having made an unsuccessful attempt to sign him last summer.

‘Next Alexis Sanchez’

It appears the Premier League champions have rekindled their interest in the 22-year-old, as Midtjylland technical director Kristian Kjaer, speaking exclusively to Standard Sport, has revealed that Arsenal are among several Premier League clubs showing interest in Osorio.

He said: ‘We know that Arsenal have been looking into Osorio, but we also know other clubs in the Premier League have done the same.’

He went on to highlight his qualities, comparing him to former Arsenal great Alexis Sanchez.

He adds, ‘He has the full package, seen as the next Alexis Sánchez in Chile. I can see him making a difference in the Premier League.’

With Arsenal looking to reinforce their squad after their Premier League title win, Kjaer is upbeat about whether a deal for Osorio will happen, stating, ‘Arsenal as the champions. I think that might also rock their boat a bit and see how we can keep this position for next season. I don’t know. We will see where it all ends up.’

While he’s not expected to be the Gunners’ primary target for the left wing, his 18-goal contributions last season suggest he could be a good backup option, offering constant goal threats and ensuring Mikel Arteta’s side maintains their goal threat whenever he’s brought in.
