Arsenal have expressed interest in signing Eintracht Frankfurt left back Nathaniel Brown next summer, according to Fussballdaten.

Brown progressed through the youth ranks at FC Nürnberg and began to make a name for himself after breaking into the senior side in Germany’s second division.

His displays attracted the attention of Markus Krösche, who acted swiftly to secure his signing for Eintracht Frankfurt for a relatively modest fee.

Since arriving at Deutsche Bank Park, the 22-year-old has delivered consistently over the past 18 months, making 68 appearances and contributing to 20 goals, establishing himself as a key member of the squad.

His development has also been recognised internationally, earning him a call-up to the Germany national football team, where he has already featured twice.

Even with Frankfurt struggling for form this season, the left-back has remained one of their standout performers, registering 10 goal contributions in 35 matches.

Now, according to Fussballdaten, Brown’s performances have attracted the interest of several clubs across Europe, including Arsenal.

The North Londoners have been closely monitoring the 22-year-old’s recent performances for Frankfurt ahead of his potential transfer to the Emirates Stadium, as per the report.

In a boost to the Gunners, Fussballdaten adds that the German club are aware Brown’s departure in the summer is ‘inevitable’, and they’ve now set a valuation between £51 and £60m for the youngster amid interest from the Premier League leaders.

Battle

However, Arsenal face stern competition for the German international’s signature, as the report claims that European giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Premier League rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United, are also keen on signing Brown next summer.

Mikel Arteta possesses arguably the strongest squad depth in Europe, particularly in midfield and defence.

At left back, the Spanish manager has Riccardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapié, and Myles Lewis-Skelly, with the trio rotating starting roles across different competitions.

After using Calafiori in most games at the start of the season, the Gunners boss now appears to prefer Hincapié, who has shown real quality in the role.

This has also led to a reduced role for Lewis-Skelly, with his playing time dropping and speculation about a possible departure growing.

While Brown would be a viable option to replace him if he leaves, spending up to £51m on a position that is already well covered may not be the wisest investment; instead, those funds would be better directed towards strengthening the attack, particularly on the left wing.
