Arsenal showing ‘serious’ interest in Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz

By on March 28, 2026

Arsenal have expressed interest in signing Real Madrid right winger Brahim Diaz next summer, according to Sports Boom.

Since completing his move from Manchester City to Real Madrid in 2019, Díaz has experienced a sharp rise in his performances, playing a key role in Los Blancos’ recent run of silverware.

After featuring in 56 matches last season, including 31 in La Liga, his involvement has declined notably this season, managing just four starts from 18 appearances across all competitions under Xabi Alonso.

Despite reduced minutes earlier in the season, Díaz underlined his quality at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored five goals — the highest tally in the tournament and a record for a Morocco national football team player in AFCON history.

With only one year remaining on his contract and limited game time, his future in Madrid is uncertain, with several clubs, including Arsenal, now eyeing a move.

This is according to Sports Boom, which claims that the Premier League leaders are showing the ‘most serious’ interest in signing the 26-year-old.

The report adds that the Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta, is a keen admirer of the right winger’s technical qualities and plans to deploy him alongside Martin Odegaard when facing low blocks.

Diaz to Arsenal

It appears Arsenal are accelerating efforts to complete a deal for Diaz as Sports Boom reports that the North London club are preparing to submit a formal £30m offer, including bonuses, to Madrid for his possible transfer to the Emirates Stadium next summer.

However, the Gunners face stern competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford, Crystal Palace, AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Dortmund, all of which have also expressed interest in the Moroccan international, according to the report.

Díaz offers versatility across the attack, capable of featuring on either flank or in a central No. 10 role and even dropping slightly deeper as a No. 8 when required. His technical ability would allow him to adapt smoothly into Arsenal’s setup.

With Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli both potentially heading towards exits at the Emirates Stadium, the Madrid forward could view a move as a chance to establish himself as a regular starter.

The Gunners have enjoyed an outstanding campaign despite their EFL Cup final loss, currently leading the Premier League by nine points with seven matches remaining, while also competing in the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
