Arsenal and Chelsea target Club Brugge’s Stankovic
Arsenal are showing a keen interest in Club Brugge midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, according to reports from HNL.
However, the Gunners will face competition as Chelsea are also eyeing the player, while Borussia Dortmund are showing strong interest, too.
The Bundesliga club are keen to strengthen their midfield options. That sets up a three-way battle for the 20-year-old.
Premier League rivals join race
Stankovic has been a regular presence in the Jupiler Pro League this season. He has earned valuable minutes in domestic competition.
He has also featured in the Champions League during the current campaign. One of those appearances came against Arsenal.
His performances have caught the attention of several top clubs. Scouts have followed his progress closely over recent months.
Arsenal are known for investing in young players with high potential. The club aim to build depth while planning for the future.
Stankovic fits that profile well. He combines energy in midfield with the ability to influence games in attack.
Chelsea are also exploring the market for emerging talent. They view the Serbian as a player who can grow further.
Inter hold key buyback clause
According to a relay from The Sun, Belgian reports state that Inter included a buyback clause in his deal.
As part of the agreement that took him to Brugge, Inter secured the right to re-sign him. The fee is believed to be around £20 million.
However, there are clear conditions attached to that clause. Inter must notify Brugge within the first two weeks of June.
If they wish to activate the option, they must act within that window. Timing will therefore be crucial.
Brugge are also required to inform Inter if they accept an offer from another club. That ensures Inter remain in control of the situation.
Stankovic has added goals to his midfield displays this season. He has scored seven times and provided four assists.
Those numbers underline his attacking threat from deeper areas. He is capable of arriving late in the box and finishing chances.
A move to Arsenal would provide added quality in midfield. He would also offer another creative outlet going forward.
With several clubs circling and Inter holding a buyback clause, his future remains open. The coming months could prove decisive for the talented youngster.
