Arsenal are reportedly in a fierce battle to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, as per Italian outlet Tutto Sport.

The 20-year-old is the product of Bayern Munich’s youth system, and following the expiration of his contract with the German giants, he decided to join the Bianconeri as a free agent back in 2022.

He made his first team debut a couple of years ago before establishing himself as a key starter in recent seasons. The youngster made 15 goal contributions across all competitions last term and even tallied four goals and assists in as many matches in the Club World Cup last summer.

This season, Yildiz has scored seven goals and registered as many assists in 23 appearances across all competitions. He has been in excellent form since Luciano Spalletti’s arrival as the new manager.

Now, Tutto Sport report that Yildiz has already established a very good relationship with Spalletti, which could help Juventus tie him down to a fresh term.

The youngster wants around €6m-a-year in salary to sign an extension, and Juventus are ready to make him the highest-paid player at the club by accepting his demands.

Yildiz’s current contract is set to run until 2029, and Juventus want to hand him a fresh term until 2031. They are set to hold talks with the player’s representatives in January to seal the deal.

Yildiz to Arsenal

Still, Arsenal haven’t given up on their hopes of signing the forward as they are keen on him to reinforce the frontline. The Gunners have been monitoring his development closely in recent months before making a potential swoop.

However, the report say that Yildiz’s recent impressive performances haven’t just attracted Arsenal’s attention as Chelsea, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are all interested in securing his service.

Yildiz is a right-footed left-winger by trait, but is also comfortable in the creative midfield position if needed. He is considered one of the best young players in the world and would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in January or next summer.
